Mitek Systems Announces Appointment of Scott Carter as Executive
On January 24, 2023, Mitek Systems, Inc. announced that Bruce Hansen stepped down as the Chairman of the Company’s Board of Directors, effective January 24, 2023, and that Scott Carter, a member of the Board, has been appointed Executive Chair of the Company. Mr. Hansen will continue to serve as a member of the Board. The Executive Chair is a newly-created role and in this role, Mr. Carter will provide leadership and direction to the Board and work with the Company’s Chief Executive Officer and other members of the Company’s executive team to provide strategic expertise for future growth.
Mr. Carter has served as a director of the Company since March 2022 and has served as a special advisor to the Company’s Chief Executive Officer and Board sharing his industry knowledge and assisting with product and market strategy since December 2020. He brings a diverse range of experiences from leading solution providers as well as client-side industry roles. With his 360-degree view he has consistently accelerated growth for organizations utilizing client insight to inform strategy development.
In addition to Mr. Carter’s appointment, on January 24th the Board also appointed Kim Stevenson as Lead Independent Director. In her role she will guide discussion on key issues related to corporate governance while providing support to management in their efforts towards long-term value creation for shareholders.
