NetApp Announces Innovative Products and Programs to Address Critical Customer Challenges in Data Storage and Cybersecurity

NetApp, a global software company, has announced new products and programs to address critical customer challenges. Among these are a new modern block storage offering and a guarantee highlighting NetApp’s best-in-class ability to recover from ransomware attacks. These innovations aim to simplify IT infrastructure and provide guaranteed efficiency, cost savings, and sustainability. Sandeep Singh, Senior Vice President and GM Enterprise Storage at NetApp, said that organizations are looking for simplicity and security as a baseline.

NetApp’s new ASA A-Series family simplifies the deployment of modern SAN infrastructure while providing guaranteed availability and efficiency. It is designed to collapse infrastructure silos and simplify structured and unstructured data environments on-premises and in the cloud. The line of SAN-specific flash storage systems delivers superior performance, scalability, data availability, efficiency, and hybrid cloud connectivity for business-critical applications and databases. It also offers industry-leading effective capacity with industry-leading usable capacity combined with NetApp’s 41 Storage Efficiency Guarantee.

The NetApp ASA A-Series also offers several additional features such as six nines data availability guarantee (99.9999%), up to 50% lower power consumption than competitive offerings, all-NVMe performance flash with NVMe/FC, NVMe/TCP, FC, and iSCSI protocols, symmetric active-active architecture typically found only on high-end arrays for continuous data access to all ASA arrays. It also includes a Storage Lifecycle Program that offers customers non-disruptive upgrades every three to five years at no additional cost.

In addition to the ASA A-Series family launch, NetApp has introduced the Ransomware Recovery Guarantee leveraging ONTAP’s unique combination of key built-in security features. ONTAP can automatically block known malicious file types; block rogue admins with multi-admin verification; provide tamper-proof snapshots that can’t be deleted – even by the storage administrator. With ONTAP’s autonomous ransomware protection, attacks can be detected, additional snapshots are taken immediately, and recovery can occur in a matter of minutes. NetApp will now warrant snapshot data recovery in the event of a ransomware attack.
